Yoga
Wellness is the spirit of Pura Vida
If you are reading this, you're probably already aware of the amazing benefits and transformative qualities that the practice of yoga offers. Even if you haven't done much yoga you've probably heard about it from friends, family or through the media. Yoga's popularity has grown dramatically in the last few years, and with good reason: better attitude and outlook, more serenity and tranquility, more flexibility and strength and just a higher quality of life in general.
A commitment to wellness makes up a big part of who we are at Pura Vida. For the last five (5) years we have hosted hundreds of yoga and wellness groups offering a huge variety of yoga styles: Vinyasa, Iyengar, Astanga, Kundalini, Power, Anusara, Bikram, Kripalu, Tantra and many more. Throughout the year we also host a number of yoga teacher trainings. Check out our Calendar of Events to see who's coming to Pura Vida.
For those in our weekly Mind-Body-Spirit Program, we have a number of excellent staff yoga teachers with various backgrounds and styles from which to choose. These yoga classes are very basic, restorative and meditative and open to those of all levels of experience. Whether a novice or a seasoned yogi or yogini, you'll find the Mind-Body-Spirit classes accepting, open-hearted and enjoyable.
We have five beautiful yoga halls surrounded by views and gardens and filled with good energy. We hope to see you in class one day soon here at Pura Vida, one of the most amazing spots on the planet to take that inward journey that is the practice of yoga.
- Ananda Hall - Our largest hall (1,700 sq.ft.), offers an expansive view, teak floor, a fireplace and a huge wraparound balcony for hanging out after class.
- Lila Hall - Our second largest (1,260 sq.ft.). Being in this hall for a class is like practicing yoga in the jungle. Banana trees and tropical plants surround the almond wood floors. The ceiling soars forty feet overhead and the fresh air (and sometimes the clouds) passes through the hall adding to its magical energy.
- Shanti Hall - This hall has a teak floor, fireplace and a lovely view of the Central Valley. It is also equipped with heaters and mirrors for Bikram and hot yoga classes.
- Satya Hall - This charming hall is rich with light and bright colors. With clear panels making up part of the roof, this hall tends to be warmer when the sun is out.
- Bhakti Hall - Tucked away at one end of the property and surrounded by lots of foliage, this hall tends to be cool and shady and has a womb-like quality to it.
